2008 General Track Rules

RULE BOOK DISCLAIMER

THE RULES AND/OR REGULATIONS SET FORTH HEREIN ARE DESIGNED TO PROVIDE  FOR THE ORDERLY CONDUCT OF RACING EVENTS AND TO ESTABLISH MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCH EVENTS, AND BY PARTICIPATING IN THESE EVENTS, ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE DEEMED TO HAVE COMPLIED WITH THESE RULES.  COMPETITIVE RACING CAN RESULT IN INJURY AND/OR DEATH TO THE PARTICIPANT.   NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM PUBLICATIONS OF, OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES, AND/OR REGULATIONS. THEY ARE INTENDED AS A GUIDE FOR THE CONDUCT OF THE SPORT, AND ARE IN NO WAY A GUARANTEE AGAINST INJURY OR DEATH TO A PARTICIPANT, SPECTATOR, OR OFFICIAL.

 

THE PROMOTER SHALL BE EMPOWERED TO PERMIT MINOR DEVIATION FROM ANY OF THE SPECIFICATIONS HEREIN, OR IMPOSE ANY FURTHER RESTRICTIONS, THAT IN HIS OPINION, DO NOT ALTER THE MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE REQUIREMENTS. NO EXPRESSED, OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM SUCH ALTERATION OF SPECIFICATION. ANY INTERPRETATION, OR DEVIATION OF THESE RULES, IS LEFT TO THE DISCRETION OF THE OFFICIALS. THEIR DECISION IS FINAL.

INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS:

NO INDIVIDUAL UNDER THE AGE OF 16 WILL OPERATE ANY ATV, MOTORCYCLE, ELECTRIC VEHICLE, ETC., WITHOUT WRITTEN PERMISSION FROM MANAGEMENT.  ALL ABOVE MENTIONED VEHICLES MUST BE REGISTERED WITH THE FRONT GATE.

 

NO INDIVIDUAL WILL OPERATE ANY NON-LICENSED VEHICLE  30 MINUTES AFTER THE RACE PROGRAM, I.E., FOUR WHEELERS, GOLF CARTS, MULES, ETC.

 

2008 TRACK GENERAL RULES:

THE MANAGEMENT OF THE TEXAS THUNDER SPEEDWAY RESERVES THE RIGHT TO ALTER THE RACE PROGRAM, AT ANY TIME, FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE QUALITY AND/OR CONVENIENCE OF THE NIGHT’S SCHEDULED EVENTS.  ALL AFTER MARKET FUEL CELLS MUST HAVE A FLAPPER DEVICE TO PREVENT FUEL FROM LEAKING IN CASE OF A ROLLOVER AND LOSS OF FUEL CAP.   NO TWO-WAY COMMUNICATION OF ANY KIND ALLOWED!

 

NOTICE:  ALL CLASSES (EXCEPT TWISTERS) OF CARS ARE REQUIRED TO RUN IMCA APPROVED MUFFLERS WITH TURN DOWNS DIRECTING EXHAUST TO THE GROUND.

  

ADMISSION

1. ANYONE ENTERING THE RACETRACK PREMISES DOES SO AT HIS/HERS OWN RISK. EVERYONE ENTERING THE PIT GATE MUST

PERSONALLY SIGN A RELEASE. THE INSURANCE CARRIER MAY DETERMINE THE MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENTS.

 

2. AT ALL TIMES DURING A RACE PROGRAM, ALL PERSONS IN THE PIT AREA ARE RESPONSIBLE TO THE PIT STEWARD. THE

FLAGMAN HAS COMPLETE CONTROL OF THE CARS DURING THE RACE. DECISIONS OF THE SPEEDWAY PERSONNEL ARE

OFFICIAL AND FINAL. MANAGEMENT IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ACCIDENTS OF ANY NATURE, OR DAMAGE INCURRED, OR FOR

LOSS BY THEFT WHILE ON THE PREMISES OF TEXAS THUNDER SPEEDWAY.

 

3. THE TRACK OFFICIALS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ENTRANCE TO ANY CAR, DRIVER, OWNER, OR ANY OTHER PERSON OR PERSONS TO THE PIT AREA, INFIELD OR GRANDSTAND AREA.

 

DRUGS/ALCOHOL

ABSOLUTELY NO DRUGS OR ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES WILL BE CONSUMED IN THE PIT AREA BY ANYONE BEFORE AND DURING THE RACE PROGRAM. THE RACE PROGRAM WILL END AFTER THE LAST RACE HAS BEEN COMPLETED AND ALL CARS HAVE LEFT THE RACING SURFACE. EXCEPTIONS TO THE END OF THE RACE PROGRAM WILL BE POSTED AND TRACK OFFICIAL WILL NOTIFY ALL PERSONNEL AT THE RACETRACK. THE SPEEDWAY OFFICIALS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SEARCH ALL VEHICLES ENTERING THE PIT AREA. ANY PERSON IN THE PIT AREA WITH ALCOHOL ON THEIR BREATH WILL BE IMMEDIATELY REMOVED FROM THE PIT AREA FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE RACE PROGRAM. A SECOND OFFENSE WILL RESULT IN A PERMANENT SUSPENSION FROM THE  PITS.

 

INSURANCE

1.  THE MANAGEMENT WILL CARRY INSURANCE. NO CLAIMS WILL BE PAID FOR ANY INJURIES UNLESS THESE INJURIES ARE REPORTED BEFORE LEAVING THE PREMISES ON THE DAY OR NIGHT THE INJURY OCCURRED. THE TRACK MANAGEMENT WILL FILE THE INITIAL CLAIM. AFTER THE CLAIM IS FILED, IT BECOMES THE INDIVIDUALS RESPONSIBILITY TO FILL OUT PAPERS AND FORMS AND SEND ALL BILLS TO THE INSURANCE COMPANY.   TEXAS THUNDER SPEEDWAY WILL PROVIDE AN AMBULANCE ON SITE.  IF THE AMBULANCE’S SERVICES ARE REQUIRED, IT BECOMES THAT INDIVIDUAL’S FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR TREATMENT AND/OR TRANSPORT COSTS.  INJURIES SUSTAINED FROM FIGHTING WILL NOT BE COVERED BY INSURANCE. THOSE PERSONS INJURED WHILE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS FORFEIT ALL RIGHTS TO ANY INSURANCE CLAIMS.

 

2. INSURANCE REGULATIONS FORBID ANYONE UNDER 16 YEARS OLD WITHOUT PRIOR TRACK APPROVAL AND/ALSO NOT IN A SEAT FROM RIDING IN A RACECAR AT ANYTIME.

 

3. NO ONE SHALL CLAIM ANY DAMAGES AGAINST ANY SPEEDWAY OFFICIAL FOR REASONS OF DISQUALIFICATION OR DAMAGES TO ANY PROPERTY NOT COVERED UNDER CURRENT INSURANCE POLICY.

 

PROTEST

1. IMCA CLASSES REFERENCE IMCA RULES.  ALL PROTESTS MUST BE FILED WITH THE TECHNICAL OFFICIAL PRIOR TO THE START OF THE FEATURE RACE FOR EACH CLASS AND IN A REASONABLE TIME SO INSPECTION CAN TAKE PLACE.  THE PROTEST FEE, ($25) IN CASH, BY THE REGISTERED DRIVER FILING THE PROTEST WILL BE GIVEN TO THE TECHNICAL OFFICIAL AND CANNOT BE WITHDRAWN.  THIS PROTEST IS A VISUAL PROTEST ONLY.  A TEAR-DOWN PROTEST FEE ($100) IN CASH, AFTER THE FEATURE EVENT, FOR TRANSMISSION AND REAR GEAR ONLY.  THE PROTESTING DRIVER MUST BE COMPETING IN THAT EVENING’S RACE PROGRAM IN THE CLASS THEY WISH TO PROTEST.  UPON REQUEST, THE PROTESTED CAR MUST REPORT IMMEDIATELY TO THE DESIGNATED INSPECTION AREA.  IF THE PROTESTED CAR IS ILLEGAL, THE MONEY IS RETURNED TO THE PERSON FILING THE PROTEST, AND THE ILLEGAL CAR FORFEITS ALL WINNINGS AND POINTS FOR THAT PROGRAM.  IF THE PROTESTED CAR IS LEGAL, THEN THE PROTESTED CAR RETAINS THE ENTIRE PROTEST FEE.  NO PROTESTED CAR MAY LEAVE THE PREMISE PRIOR TO CHECKING THE PROTESTS WITHOUT FORFEITING THEIR WINNINGS.  PROTESTED DRIVER/CAR MAY NOT SWITCH CARS IN THE FEATURE EVENT.

 

2. PRIOR TO A PROTEST ANY CAR FOUND TO BE ILLEGAL BY TRACK OFFICIALS DURING THE HEAT RACES MAY CHANGE THE ILLEGAL PART. ANY CAR FOUND ILLEGAL DURING THE FEATURE RACE WILL FORFEIT ALL POINTS AND MONEY FOR THAT NIGHT’S RACES.

 

SUSPENSION/ DISQUALIFICATION

THE MANAGEMENT WILL GIVE ANY PARTICIPANT STARTING A FIGHT, OR CONDUCTING HIMSELF IN A MANNER DETRIMENTAL TO THE SPEEDWAY, OR TO THE SPORT OF AUTO RACING, A PENALTY/FINE.  THE GUILTY PARTY WILL BE NOTIFIED BY THE MANAGEMENT OF IMPENDING PENALTY/FINE BEFORE THE NEXT RACE NIGHT.  A SECOND PENALTY WILL RESULT IN A HEAVIER PENALTY/FINE.  ANY ABUSE OF A TRACK OFFICIAL IS GROUNDS FOR PERMANENT SUSPENSION.

 

FLAGS/ SIGNALS

1. A BLACK FLAG IS A SIGNAL TO THE DRIVER THAT HE HAS A PROBLEM. THE DRIVER MUST PROCEED TO THE RED/YELLOW AREA WHERE HE WILL BE INFORMED OF THE NATURE/REASON FOR THE BLACK FLAG.  THE FLAGMAN HAS THE AUTHORITY TO ACCESS TRACK PENALTIES AT HIS OWN DISCRETION. TRACK PENALTIES RANGE FROM A WARNING; PUT TO THE REAR OF THE FIELD, DISQUALIFICATION FROM EVENT. ANY CAR DISQUALIFIED FOR ROUGH DRIVING OR UNSPORTSMAN-LIKE CONDUCT WILL NOT BE PAID FOR THAT EVENT.  ANY CAR DISQUALIFIED FOR TECHNICAL REASONS WILL NOT BE PAID FOR THAT EVENT AND MUST BE RE-INSPECTED AND APPROVED BY THE TECHNICAL INSPECTOR BEFORE ENTERING ANY FUTURE EVENTS.

 

2. ANY DRIVER DISREGARDING A BLACK FLAG MORE THAN TWICE IN A RACE MAY BE DISQUALIFIED, RECEIVE NO WINNINGS FOR THAT EVENT AND SUSPENDED FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE NIGHT.  DISQUALIFICATION OF A DRIVER COULD RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION OF THE CAR HE IS DRIVING FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE NIGHT.

 

3. NO ONE WILL BE ALLOWED TO ENTER A RACE FROM THE PIT AREA AFTER THE GREEN FLAG HAS DROPPED.

 

4. A GREEN/YELLOW LIGHT WILL BE USED IN THE EVENT OF A SITUATION WHERE CAUTION IS NEEDED TO ALERT ALL DRIVERS.  RACE WILL CONTINUE UNDER GREEN/YELLOW.

 

5. IN THE EVENT OF A RED FLAG, ALL CARS MUST STOP AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.  ONCE THE CARS ARE REALIGNED AND MOVED OUT ON THE PARADE LAP, ANY CAR NOT IN THE LINE-UP WILL GO TO THE REAR OF THE FIELD. CARS MAY RE-ENTER THE RACE AFTER ENTERING THE RED/YELLOW AREA AND COMPLETING REPAIRS. ANY CAR ENTERING THE PIT PARKING AREA AND ATTEMPTING TO RETURN TO THE RACING SURFACE WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.  NO WORK CAN BE DONE ON A RACECAR DURING A RED FLAG.

 

6. A YELLOW FLAG WILL BE USED TO CLEAR THE TRACK OF MINOR ACCIDENTS. ANY CAR INVOLVED IN THE YELLOW FLAG

WHICH ENDS UP STOPPED ON THE TRACK OR NEEDS ASSISTANCE WILL BE PUT TO THE REAR OF THE FIELD AS DETERMINED

BY THE FLAGMAN. UNDER THE YELLOW FLAG CONDITION, ALL CARS MUST REDUCE THEIR SPEED TO A SLOW PACE AND FALL

INTO POSITION WITH NO PASSING. THE OFFICIAL LINE-UP WILL BE THE LEADER ALONE ON THE FRONT ROW AND ALL

TRAILING CARS ALIGNED TWO ABREAST DETERMINED BY THE LAST COMPLETED LAP UNDER THE GREEN FLAG. IF A CAR

DROPS OUT, THE CARS DIRECTLY BEHIND WILL MOVE UP. NO CRISSCROSSING.

 

7. CARS MAY ENTER THE DESIGNATED RED/YELLOW WORK AREA AT ANY TIME DURING A FEATURE EVENT. DRIVER CAN NOT ENTER THE RED/YELLOW DURING THE HEAT RACES. BY ENTERING THE RED/YELLOW WORK AREA ON YELLOW FLAG CONDITION, THAT CAR FORFEITS ITS RESTART POSITION AND MUST GO TO THE REAR.  CARS CANNOT GO TO THEIR TRAILER AND RETURN TO THE EVENT. 

 

8. ANY IDENTIFIABLE PART FALLING OFF A RACE CAR CAUSING A YELLOW FLAG, WILL RESULT IN THAT CAR GOING TO THE REAR.

 

9. AT THE DISCRETION OF THE OFFICIALS, ANY SINGLE CAR CAUSING A YELLOW FLAG IN AN EVENT WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE RACE AND SCORED AT THAT POINT. 

 

10. THE FLAGMAN HAS THE AUTHORITY TO START ANY EVENT WHETHER ALL CARS CALLED TO THE TRACK ARE READY OR NOT. ANY CAR THAT DOES NOT TAKE HIS POSITION WHEN CALLED WILL GO TO THE REAR.  FLAGMAN MAY DEEM TO REALIGN SINGLE FILE RESTARTS.

 

DRIVER/ CAR CHANGE

1. ANY DRIVER WHO CHANGES CARS WILL START ON THE BACK OF THE EVENT FOR WHICH THAT DRIVER QUALIFIED. DRIVERS RETURNING TO THEIR ORIGINAL CAR WILL START ON THE BACK OF THEIR SCHEDULED EVENT.

 

2. ANY DRIVER CHANGE WITHOUT NOTIFYING SPEEDWAY OFFICIALS COULD RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION OF THE DRIVER AND CAR, FORFEITURE OF WINNINGS IN THAT EVENT, AND SUSPENSION FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE RACE NIGHT.

 

PURSE

UNOFFICIAL RESULTS WILL BE POSTED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AFTER EACH EVENT. IF NO DISPUTE OF THE FINISHING ORDER HAS BEEN MADE WITHIN 30 MINUTES, RESULTS BECOME OFFICIAL.  DRIVER OR OWNER SHOULD PICKUP WINNINGS WITHIN 30 MINUTES OF ANNOUNCING THE OFFICIAL RESULTS OF THE LAST EVENT OF THE NIGHT.   INDIVIDUAL PICKING UP PURSE MONEY MUST SIGN THEIR OWN NAME LEGIBLY.  INDIVIDUAL PICKING UP ANY PURSE MUST VERIFY THE AMOUNT OF MONEY IN THAT ENVELOPE BEFORE LEAVING THE FRONT GATE PIT WINDOW.   NO EXCEPTIONS!  MONEY NOT PICKED UP WITHIN THE TIME LIMIT WILL BE HELD UNTIL THE FOLLOWING WEEK’S RACES.

 

TRACK OPERATIONS

1. THE ONLY PEOPLE ALLOWED ON THE RACETRACK AND INFIELD DURING COMPETITION ARE RACING OFFICIALS UNLESS

REQUESTED TO ASSIST FOR SOME SPECIAL REASON. DRIVERS MAY SEEK A PLACE OF SAFETY IN THE INFIELD FOLLOWING

DISABLEMENT. DRIVERS ARE NOT TO WORK OR EXAMINE DISABLED CARS IN THE INFIELD DURING A RACE EVENT. ONLY

WRECKER AND SAFETY CREWS WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE RACE TRACK IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT.

 

2. A CAR CANNOT COMPETE IN TWO DIFFERENT CLASSES THE SAME NIGHT.

 

ENGINE CLAIMS

1. THE TECHNICAL INSPECTOR WILL OVERSEE ALL ENGINE CLAIMS. HIS RULINGS ARE FINAL. NO DRIVER MAY CLAIM UNLESS HE HAS COMPETED AT THE TRACK THE TWO PREVIOUS EVENTS.

 

2. CAR/DRIVER THAT WANTS TO CLAIM MUST REMAIN ON THE RACING SURFACE AND MOVE TO CLAIM AREA IMMEDIATELY

FOLLOWING THE RACE.   DRIVER WANTING TO CLAIM TAKES THE CHECKERED FLAG AND MUST NOT PASS FLAG

STAND/FINISH LINE A SECOND TIME.  DRIVER MUST HAVE CLAIM CARD/ LICENSE AND EXACT MONEY IN HIS POSSESSION

DURING THE RACE.  ANY QUESTIONABLE AREAS, IMCA RULES APPLY.

 

3. DRIVERS THAT ALLOW THEIR ENGINE TO BE CLAIMED WILL HAVE THEIR CARS IMPOUNDED BY THE TECHNICAL INSPECTOR. NO WORK WILL BEGIN UNTIL CLEARED BY THE TECHNICAL INSPECTOR.

 

4. ENGINES WILL BE PULLED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

 

5. THE DRIVER/OWNER AND THREE INDIVIDUALS FROM THE CAR WITH THE ENGINE BEING CLAIMED, ONE PERSON FROM THE CAR MAKING THE CLAIM AND ONE WRECKER CREW ARE THE ONLY NON-TRACK OFFICIALS ALLOWED NEAR OR IN THE GENERAL VICINITY OF THE CLAIM/ WORK AREA.

 

6. NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES WILL BE CONSUMED IN THE CLAIM/WORK AREA.

 

7.   

A.    $425.00 CASH CLAIM ON ENGINE, $25 GOES TO WRECKER FOR PULLING ENGINE.

  

B.    CLAIM DOES NOT INCLUDE;  FLYWHEEL, CLUTCH, PRESSURE PLATE, BELL HOUSING, EXHAUST, CARBURETOR,          STARTER, MOTOR MOUNTS, SENDING UNITS AND SWITCHES FOR OIL PRESSURE AND WATER TEMP,  CARBURETOR      ADAPTER, FAN AND PULLEYS, CLUTCH BALL, CLUTCH ARM, THROW OUT BEARING, DIP STICK, WATER PUMP, PLUG WIRES, OIL COOLER, VALVE COVER BREATHERS, DISTRIBUTOR OR FUEL PUMP.                   

                                                        

C.    FIRST FOUR POSITION FINISHES ARE SUBJECT TO ENGINE CLAIM BY ANY OTHER DRIVER FINISHING FIFTH ON BACK IN        FEATURE. (MUST BE ON SAME LAP AS 4TH PLACE CAR).

 

D.    DRIVER MAKING CLAIM MUST DRIVE HIS / HER RACE CAR IMMEDIATELY AFTER FEATURE EVENT, UNDER ITS OWN                POWER, DIRECTLY TO CLAIMING AREA.

 

E.    CLAIMS MUST BE MADE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AFTER THE END OF THE FEATURE RACE.

 

F.    CLAIMS MUST BE MADE TO THE TECHNICAL INSPECTOR IN THE CLAIMING AREA AND CLAIMING DRIVER MUST HAVE

EXACT CLAIM FEE AND BE A REGISTERED DRIVER AT TEXAS THUNDER SPEEDWAY.

 

G.    FIRST SELL, NO SELL, OR SWAP BY DRIVER BEING CLAIMED IS BINDING.  THE DRIVER WILL HAVE 5 MINUTES TO MAKE THE DECISION.

 

H.    ONLY THE DRIVER MAY CLAIM AN ENGINE AND ONLY THE DRIVER MAY AGREE TO SELL, SWAP, OR REFUSE TO SELL         ENGINE. ONLY THE DRIVERS ARE ALLOWED IN THE CLAIMING AREA. UPON PRESENTATION OF THE CLAIM, THE CLAIMED ENGINE DRIVER MAY:

          1.    REFUSE TO SELL OR SWAP ENGINE. (SEE RULE I BELOW).

          2.    ACCEPT THE CLAIM FEE AND SELL ENGINE.

          3.    REQUEST TO CLAIM CLAIMANTS ENGINE / (SWAP):  WHEN THIS OCCURS, BOTH DRIVERS SIMPLY SWAP ENGINES.  NO MONEY CHANGES HANDS.  THE DRIVER    MAKING THE INITIAL CLAIM MUST PAY THE WRECKER FEE FOR BOTH ENGINES $50.

 

I.    FIRST REFUSAL TO SELL/SWAP RESULTS IN FORFEITURE OF ALL CASH AND CONTINGENCY WINNINGS FOR THE FEATURE, AND TROPHIES EARNED IN THE FEATURE, PLUS ALL POINTS EARNED FOR THE SEASON.  ANY DRIVER/OWNER REFUSING TO SELL OR SWAP UNDER A LEGAL CLAIM ALSO LOSES THE RIGHT TO CLAIM AN ENGINE FOR 12 CALENDAR MONTHS (REGARDLESS OF REINSTATEMENT).  THE FIRST REFUSAL TO SELL WILL ALSO RESULT IN A 14 CALENDAR DAY   SUSPENSION FROM THE DATE OF REFUSAL AND UNTIL A FINE OF $300 IS PAID TO THE TRACK.  THE SECOND REFUSAL TO SELL WILL RESULT IN A 30 DAY SUSPENSION AND A FINE OF $5OO, PLUS ALL CASH AND CONTINGENCY EARNED AS WELL AS ALL POINTS EARNED FOR THE YEAR, AND LOSING THE RIGHT TO CLAIM AN ENGINE FOR 12 CALENDAR MONTHS.

 

J.    ALL CLAIMED ENGINES MUST BE REMOVED FROM THE CAR AT THE TRACK.

 

K.    ANY SABOTAGE OR ATTEMPTED SABOTAGE WILL RESULT IN THE SABOTEUR BEING SUSPENDED FROM COMPETITION FOR 21 CALENDAR DAYS OR UNTIL A FINE OF $500 IS PAID TO THE TRACK.

 

L.    ANY DRIVER FOUND TO BE USING A DEVICE WHICH IS INTENDED TO DECEIVE OTHER DRIVERS, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO DEVICES THAT SPRAY OIL ONTO EXHAUST SYSTEM TRYING TO GIVE THE APPEARANCE OF A “BLOWN ENGINE” WILL BE SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING PENALTIES: FORFEITURE OF ALL MONEY AND TROPHIES  EARNED IN THAT EVENT.  LOSS OF ALL TRACK POINTS FOR THE SEASON AND SUSPENSION FROM RACING FOR 14 CALENDAR DAYS FROM THE DATE OF INFRACTION OR UNTIL A FINE OF $300 IS PAID TO THE TRACK POINT FUND.

 

M.    NO DRIVER MAY CLAIM ANY OTHER DRIVER/CAR MORE THAN ONCE DURING A REGULAR SEASONS EVENT.

 

N.    NO DRIVER MAY CLAIM MORE THAN FOUR ENGINES IN ONE REGULAR RACING SEASON.

 

O.    AFTER THE ENGINE IS CLAIMED THE ENGINE WILL NOT BE RESTARTED.  THE CAR MUST BE PUSHED ONTO THE CLAIM PAD.

 

P.    REFER TO THE SECTION ON “ENGINE CLAIMS” IN THE GENERAL RULES REGARDING CONDUCT, AND WHO WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE CLAIM AREA. 

 

ANY QUESTIONABLE AREAS, IMCA RULES APPLY.

 

NOTES:

1. POINT CALCULATIONS FOR ALL CLASSES WILL BE CALCULATED USING THE CURRENT IMCA POINT SYSTEM, EXCEPT TEXAS TWISTERS.

 

2. EIRI (EXCEPT IN RARE INSTANCES) DECISIONS OF TRACK OFFICIALS ARE FINAL AND BINDING WITHOUT EXCEPTION. IN RARE CASES, TRACK MANAGEMENT MAY INTERVENE.

 

3. THESE RULES ARE NOT ALL-INCLUSIVE TRACK OFFICIALS WILL INTERPRET ANY QUESTIONABLE AREAS.

 

4. THE DRIVER SHALL BE THE SOLE SPOKESMAN FOR HIS CAR OWNER AND PIT CREW IN ANY AND ALL MATTERS PERTAINING TO THE RACE AND THE DRIVER ONLY SHALL TAKE PART IN ANY ARBITRATION WITH THE TRACK OFFICIALS.

 

5. SPECIAL EVENTS MAY BE GOVERNED BY DIFFERENT RULES AND RULE CHANGES.

 

REGISTRATION PROCEDURES

1. ALL CARS, OWNERS AND DRIVERS MUST BE PROPERLY REGISTERED AND ALL FEES PAID BEFORE THEY WILL BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY RACE EVENT.  THIS INCLUDES CARS THAT PRIMARILY RACE AT ANOTHER FACILITY.

 

2. REGISTRATION FEE FOR ALL CLASSES WILL BE $35.  IMCA CLASSES WILL ALSO HAVE TO REGISTER WITH IMCA.

 

3. EACH CAR REGISTERED WILL BE ASSIGNED A NUMBER.  ONLY ONE CAR WILL BE REGISTERED WITH THE SAME NUMBER IN THE SAME CLASS.  OWNERS/DRIVERS THAT RACED THE PREVIOUS SEASON WILL HAVE THE OPTION OF RETAINING THEIR CURRENT NUMBER UNTIL THE FIRST REGISTRATION OF THE SEASON.

 

4. THE NUMBER “1” IS RESERVED FOR THE PREVIOUS SEASON’S POINT CHAMPION IN EACH CLASS.  ALL OTHER NUMBERS WILL BE A MAXIMUM OF TWO DIGITS IN LENGTH (2-99).  VISITING DRIVERS/CARS WILL BE EXEMPT FROM THIS RULE AND WILL BE ASSIGNED A NUMBER.

 

5. ONCE A NUMBER IS REGISTERED, IT WILL REMAIN WITH THE OWNER/DRIVER WHO REGISTERED THE CAR FOR THE ENTIRE SEASON.  IF THE CAR IS SOLD, THE NEW DRIVER/OWNER MUST RE-REGISTER THE CAR AND BE ASSIGNED A NUMBER.  DRIVER’S ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING THEIR NUMBERS LEGIBLE.

 

6. IN THE EVENT A CAR IS TOTALED AND THE REGISTERED OWNER/DRIVER GETS A REPLACEMENT, THE OWNER/DRIVER WILL RETAIN HIS/HER ORIGINAL NUMBER AND ALL POINTS.
