Affordable Family Fun

The Management of Texas Thunder Speedway feels that dirt track racing can and should be enjoyed by the entire family. We provide an enjoyable evening’s entertainment without costing an arm and a leg. Dollar for dollar your admission gives you hours of excitement and entertainment. Texas Thunder Speedway constantly strives to promote safety and convenience for our drivers, spectators, and all that enter our gates. We will extend every effort to assure your visit is a pleasant and enjoyable one.

We invite you to visit the pit area after the races to talk with your favorite racer and take a closer look at the cars. Please note the sponsors of these cars. They help defray the cost of racing and without them, we would have no racing at all. Visit their places of business and thank them for aiding the sport of racing.

You, the race fan, can also get involved in helping make auto racing affordable for the drivers who put on the shows each week. Night sponsorships are available, with various alternatives being offered. For example, you might choose to sponsor a trophy or to provide bonus money for the feature winner.

Lucky number prizes are awarded to fans each night. All of these opportunities help keep the costs of operating the track down. Should you be interested in any of these alternatives, or have a suggestion, feel free to call our office or stop by.

One final note... Remember as you watch the races throughout the evening that it takes more than one driver to put on a racing show. Show respect for all.

About Flags

Any Driver who does not obey the flag rules will be subject to disqualification.
Flags and traffic lights have the same meaning.

green flag

The Green flag indicates the start of the race. All cars must stay in line until the green flag falls. The race begins when the green flag is given. The pole car sets the pace - the flagman starts the race. The original race line-up will be two cars abreast. After one lap is complete, restarts will be leader single file, and everyone else will be double row. Any car jumping the start will be penalized by being put at the rear of the field.

yellow flag

The Yellow flag is the "caution flag". When the yellow flag is given, slow down, do not pass. Prepare to take the line-up board. Car going to pit on yellow will restart at the rear.

red flag

When the Red flag is waved, the race is stopped immediately because of a hazardous condition. YOU MUST STOP. All cars causing a red flag will go to the rear on restart.

black flag

Report to Pit Steward. If you are Black Flagged for an equipment defect, you may make repair and re-enter the race when the condition is corrected.

traffic lights

Green/Yellow light combined indicate - Continue to race - Be aware of a possible obstruction on the track.

two flags

Two Flags crossed is the halfway point of race.

white flag

The White Flag indicates that there is one lap to go. After the lead car takes the white flag, the race will not be stopped.

checkered flag

End of race - Go to the pits.

blue flag

The Blue with Red Diagonal Flag is the Lap or Move Over Flag It signals that you are about to be lapped. This instructs you not to interfere with cars that are lapping you and instructs you not to alter the race program. Do not disrupt the flow of the race. This could result in a Black Flag.
